PETREA VOLUBILIS (PURPLE WREATH)
The Sandpaper vine or Purple Wreath is a strong growing vine that is evergreen in warmer areas but may drop in cooler areas. The flowers are deep purple/blue surrounded by mauve calyx over a long period of spring and summer.It can be pruned to form a nice hedge.
SOILS: The vine will enjoy most soil types but prefers well drained moisture retentive soil.
PLANTING: Dig the hole twice the size of the pot and plant level with the surrounding soil. Water in well till new growth appears.
CARE: Prune after flowering and this will produce more flowers the following season. Fertilise after pruning and mulch well to conserve water.
