CHAIN OF HEARTS
Ceropegia radicans subsp. smithii is a member of the Asclepiadaceae family is from Southern Africa ranging from Zimbabwe, Zambia, and Botswana.
Some of the common names are String of Hearts and Chain of Hearts. It is a rarer form C. radicans.
This is a delicate vine that has heart shaped leaves. The stems can grow to around 2 metres bearing small bell-shaped pink flowers in clusters.
It was said to be traditionally used for medicinal purposes to help treat digestive issues.

It has also become a popular ornamental plant where it is grown indoors as well as outdoors in warmer climates with its beautiful appearance.
It likes bright light but indirect sunlight.

EUPHORBIA GEROLDII X ROBIVELONIEAE

COTTON CANDY

Euphorbia geroldii x robiveloneae Cotton Candy is a hybrid of geroldii and robivelonae.
This hybrid Euphorbia is a neat and compact shrub that grows to around 1.5 metres x 1 metre wide. It is evergreen with typical pink/red flowers and no spines.
It will require some pampering to become established, but once they are established, these plants are self-sufficient. DO NOT OVER WATER.
It’s critical to provide your Euphorbia with well-draining soil as soggy soil can quickly cause root rot and kill a plant.
It is essential to provide your plant with lots of sunlight. Euphorbia plants prefer full sun with at least six to eight hours of direct sunlight on most days. On really hot days some afternoon shade is helpful.
As it is a Euphorbia, care must be taken when handling these plants. White sap emerges from leaf breaks, and this sap is poisonous.

This White Bengal clock vine is a cousin of the blue variety and this variety is very hard to find. It starts flowering in spring and continues throughout the summer.
It is an evergreen vine and is covered with beautiful 75mm wide soft white flowers that are cup-like funnels with either pale yellow or cream stripes down the center.
This vine is also known as White Sky Vine, it is salt and frost tolerant to 0 degrees C. It looks great on a pergola as a screen

This is a rare plant that has cup shaped red flowers that appear directly out of the stem and form what looks like bunches of red flowers.

Paliavana tenuiflora is a member of the Gesneriaceae family and is a native of Brazil and its habitat is in Bahia.
Paliavana is separated from the closely related genus Sinningia by the absence of tubers.
Paliavana can grow to 2 metres and has large and waxy mauve flowers that are around 6 cm long.
It prefers good drainage and sun to partial shade as well as partial to full shade, it also requires average water needs, water regularly and don’t allow to dry out between waterings.

Fagraea berteriana is a member of the Gentianaceae family and is native to Samoa and South Pacific.
This is a small spreading tree to about 5 metres, or a large shrub. It is indigenous to the Samoa Islands where it is known as Pua Keni Keni which means” ten cent flower”.
It can be pruned to a large shrub or left as a small tree that is beautifully fragrant with tubular flowers of creamy white which turn yellow as the day progresses and are dispersed throughout the tree.

Aphelandra sinclairiana is a member of the family Acanthaceae and is a native of Central America.
This Aphelandra has beautiful orange and pink flower heads that are fragrant and last for weeks.

Hoya wibergiae is a member of the Apocynaceae family and originates from Palawan Philippines.
This is a vigorous Hoya that has showy yellowish flowers with a red centre and 15 – 20 flowers in each umbel. The leaves are a mid-green with grey spot on a veined leaf.
It likes full sun to partial shade for the best growing conditions.
INDOORS: Most Hoya are well suited to hanging baskets or ladders and can be grown indoors under pot culture in a warm position, but flowering is sometimes difficult.

SOILS: The vine will enjoy most soil types but prefers well drained gravelly soils, moist but not wet, warm but frost free above 4 degrees.

PLANTING: Dig the hole twice the size of the pot and plant level with the surrounding soil. Mounding can help with wetter soils.

Petrea volubilis alba is a member of the Verbenaceae family.

This is a rare form of Petrea volubilis with masses of pre white flowers in spring, summer and autumn.
It will require a trellis or other form of structure to climb up on.

It is slightly drought tolerant attracts birds, butterflies and bees.

It is evergreen with rough sandpaper like leaves. It prefers full sun and possible light shade.
Average well drained soils would be best with average watering.
