Antigonon leptopus is a fast growing vine that can climb supporting walls, pergolas or trees and produces clusters of deep pink flowers. It can be used for growing in gardens, against walls, over pergolas or trees if you wish. Antigonon leptopus grows to 12 meters and the heart-shaped leaves and vigorous growth of tendrils makes it easy for this vine to cover spaces very quickly.
It grows in full to partial sun and will require regular watering in warmer months. It grows best in a loamy soil in which it can establish its tuberous roots but will do well in a wide range of soils.
This vines is also said to be the food plant for stingless bees.
