Strophanthus divaricatus is a member of the Apocynaceae family and is a native of Southern China and Vietnam.
This like most of the Strophanthus species has intriguing and interesting flowers with the long beard like segments of the corolla.
It is a liana or sarmentose shrub that can grow to 4 metres but first growth is as a shrub.
The plant has been used medicinally as a heart stimulant and in the treatment of snakebites. It is also said that the seed are used as an insecticide.
