SILVER DOLLAR VINE
Xerosicyos danguyi is a member of the Cucurbitaceae family and is a native of Native to southwestern Madagascar.
Xerosicyos danguyi is commonly called “Silver Dollar Plant” or “Dollar Vine” or “Penny Plant and is an unusual climbing vine with cylindrical stems and thick round silvery-green leaves.
It grows to around 3 metres and around 1.5 metres wide, it can stand reasonably cold temperates to around 1degree C. and on the other scale will stand very high temperatures. It likes full sun with some shade and is very drought tolerant but likes more water when actively growing.
Xerosicyos danguyi kept in pots should be repotted every other year with fresh well-draining soil. In spring to summer the plant flowers with small yellowish-green flowers carried on umbels in the leaf axils.
