ARGYREIA NERVOSA
HAWAIIAN BABY WOOD ROSE
Argyreia nervosa is a member of the Convolvulaceae family and is native to India.
It is a very vigorous vine and can grow to 6 metres if allowed. It likes full sun to partial sun.
The leaves are large up to 300mm across with a silvery under side that shimmer in the wind. The name Elephant vine comes fro the large leaves shaped like Elephant ears.
The flowers appear in clusters of pinkish purple and trumpet shaped around 50mm in diameter.
The roots are said to be used as an aphrodisiac.
