POTATO TREE

The Potato Tree or Solanum macranthum, also called a potato plant, shrub or small tree and is found in most tropical or sub- tropical regions. It has large heads of bright purple and white flowers with a yellow centre in profusion making it a very desirable tree.

The Potato tree can grow to a height of up to 6 metres x 6 metres and the tree’s beautiful deep green elongated leaves are covered by a very fine soft and velvety hairs and grow 300mm long. It is native to Brazil.

The Potato tree can be pruned to a smaller ornamental size if desired.
