PINK or COMMON JASMINE
Jasminum polyanthum is a member of the Oleaceae family and is a native of Asia.
This is fast growing twining evergreen vine that can spread to 6 metres with pinnately compound leaves that have 2 or 3 pairs of leaflets that are dark green above and lighter below.
The clusters of pink buds open to display showy and very fragrant flowers, that are 25 mm wide and are white on the outward facing side of the petals and pink on the underside.
It will flower primarily in the early spring into summer but also spot flowers all year.
Plant in full sun to light shade with regular irrigation. It is hardy but can be semi-deciduous in colder climates and is able to take a light frost.
